The havoc that has been created in Mumbai especially the attack on the iconic structures of india has left me frustrated. It brings a feeling of helplessness knowing that you could hardly do anything, when gun wielding men go on a rampage & then take 3 iconic structures hostage.
I am not a mumbaikar but having been born and bought up in Mumbai and having spent my childhood there i always felt like a mumbaikar and it hurts to see the city i loved the most being held to ransom.
In life we worry about little things and just as i was writing this i was mad at some friend of mine who didn’t bother to keep in touch with me but i suddenly realised that even though they haven’t kept in touch atleast i know they are safe and sound and i can carry on that fight another day, but what about those innocent lives that have been lost, their friends and families don’t have time to hold grudges against them
Thankfully the politicians have stayed away from the scene because people on the streets would not want to see them in any case. ButNarendra Modi the chief minister of Gurajat still managed to come over to Mumbai and make his stupid statement of offering 1 crore to the family of Hemant Karkare. As expected Hemant karkare’s wife refused the compensation.
Between all this the man that comes to my mind is Mr Raj Thackeray and i keep wondering where has he been hiding his face. Come to think of this it is better he keeps hiding it because he had to eat his own humble pie. A few days back he said that Mumbai does not need non- Maharashtrian, i suppose he couldn’t find his Marathi manas to save the citizens of Mumbai when the terrorists went on the rampage.
Wouldn’t this country be a better place without the likes of Narendra Modi and Raj Thackeray.
At the end of this i would like to salute Maharashtra’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) chief Hemant Karkare, Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, encounter specialist Vijay Salaskar, additional commissioner Ashok KamteAshok, NSG hawaldar Gajendra Singh, all of them who gave their lives for our nation.
It makes you feel safe when you know that our country has brave men like these. These are the people that make you want to believe that our country is safe and that we can stand together and let the terrorist know that they cannot break our resilience.
